What is single-origin coffee?
Single-origin means the beans come from one country or region (sometimes a single farm), rather than being blended from many. The advantage is traceability and a distinct flavor: a Colombian coffee tastes brighter and fruitier, an Indian Kerala coffee fuller and spicier, a Brazilian coffee nuttier and smoother. A blend gives you consistency; single-origin gives you character.

Which single-origin espresso should I choose?
For a bright, fruity shot, go Colombian (Jaffa or Tumair). For a full-bodied, spicy or chocolatey cup, choose the Indian Kerala beans (Trefoil or Nablus). For a smooth, nutty everyday espresso, try Tulkarm (Brazil) or the balanced Acre blend.
How to brew single-origin espresso
These beans are roasted for espresso machines. Grind fine just before brewing, dose about 18g for a double shot, and aim for a 25–30 second extraction. Prefer capsules? The same origins are available as Nespresso-compatible capsules.
